Automatic Pool Cleaners
Pool & Patio Center offers a full line of automatic pool cleaners, all offered with a full LIFETIME-labor warranty, so you NEVER pay us labor, bench, or diagnostic fees for any cleaner purchased through our store. Let us help determine which style and model cleaner is best for your pool size, shape, debris load and overall cleaner expectations.
Robotic
Robotic pool cleaners are the Roomba® of the pool world—fully contained and self-propelled. Most will vacuum, scrub, brush and filter the water better than most traditional pool filters! Much more advanced in technology today, some have the ability to learn the pool size and shape or be programmed for certain cleaning patterns and time cycles. Everything they vacuum and pickup gets caught internally, so they are not reliant upon on--nor can they clog--your normal filter. With their filtering capacity and aid to circulation and heat distribution, you can even run your pool pump LESS when the robot is running--which will save on your electrical bill.
|
Suction-Side
Suction-side cleaners are typically some of the most economical automatic pool cleaners available. They hook up directly into your existing pool’s skimmer--just like you would hook up your manual hand-held vacuum—and everything they collect gets caught and filtered out by your pool’s filter. Suction-side cleaners tend to work best picking up fine silt and debris when used in conjunction with cartridge or sand filters because DE filters can clog easily and cause a loss of suction and subsequent performance out of your cleaner. While most of these cleaners are the simplest available with a single moving part, be aware of some suction-side cleaners with numerous gears or turbines that will need service to keep it in tiptop shape.
|
Pressure-Side
Pressure-side cleaners hook up to and run off return water flow going back into the pool. Most units require a high-pressure booster pump to be installed in the system to provide the necessary pressure, however some are capable of working off normal dedicated ‘eyeball’ jets in the pool. A primary benefit of pressure-side cleaners is their ability to aid in water circulation and heat distribution in the pool, however most very fine silt will pass through their collection bag and is pushed up into suspension of the pool water for the filter to eventually remove. These style cleaners are incredibly helpful in picking up large amounts of heavy debris and leaves, but also be aware they typically have internal water management and gear systems that may require routine tune-ups.

Pool Heaters
Pool & Patio Center offers a full line of options to remove the chill from your swimming pool water. Whether you need to extend your season an extra few weeks, just cut the chill out during the summer or compensate for a bit of shade cast down from the neighbor’s trees, we have the right heat options available.
Heat Pumps
Our most popular heating options, electronic heat pumps have vastly increased in efficiency over recent years. We offer only the most efficient and reliable heat pumps available on the market backed with the industries best warranty. Ensure your pool is up to temperature every single day of the year for pennies on the dollar compared to other fuel options.
|
Natural Gas / Propane
The old standard in pool heating is still a very viable option if electrical hook-ups are limited or the need to save on an upfront cost is a factor. The Pentair MasterTemp (Sta-Rite Max-E-Therm) has led the way in efficiency and reliability to the point where other manufacturers are copycats of their design.
|
Solar
Solar heating is a cost effective and viable option given you have space for the collector and mother nature cooperates. For smaller pools there are compact units which can be used or run in tandem, otherwise full length systems are typically 20’ long. Placement in an exposed area to allow the most direct sunlight is ideal, which may involve installation on a roof or further away from the filtration equipment. The goal is to slow the water down so it has as much time to absorb heat from the collector as possible so diverter valves or bypasses become crucial to maximize effectiveness and efficiency.

Salt Chlorine Generators
Salt chlorine generation has been around for decades in Australia & Europe, and there are tons of MYTHS surrounding salt chlorine generators here at home. There are definitely some clear benefits such as softer water, automated maintenance and less hassle of transporting and storing chlorine. Please understand salt chlorine generators are NOT CHLORINE-FREE or CHEMICAL-FREE. We’re happy to review and evaluate your pool to see if a salt system would be a good fit. Remember, there are many hidden factors that could cause extreme headaches if not addressed prior to installing a salt system as not every pool was designed or is fully compatible for the long haul when converting to salt.

Myths
Salt is one of the many ways we use CHLORINE to sanitize our pools.
Salt is one of the many ways we use CHLORINE to sanitize our pools.
- They ARE NOT "all natural" or "chlorine-free" – they simply convert salt INTO CHLORINE.
- They DO NOT use LESS chlorine than "regular chlorine pools" – they REQUIRE THE SAME AMOUNT! Any recreational body of water in the USA requires the use of an approved sanitizer (Chlorine, Bromine or Biguanide), salt is just another way to use (produce) chlorine.
- They DO require many other standard balancing chemicals – Water chemistry and balancing is IMPERATIVE for swimming enjoyment, equipment, liner and surface longevity. These 5 components of water chemistry must be maintained REGARDLESS of sanitizer choice: pH, Alkalinity, Calcium Hardness, Stabilizer and Borate.
- They WILL NOT save money – most require electrical repairs and component replacements as they age – some top brands have numerous components that may require expensive replacement. The saline content CAN damage natural stone – make sure patio and coping are sealed per manufacturer recommendations and/or are approved for use on salt pools.
- They WILL require normal chlorine shock treatments on occasion such as opening, closing or heavy use.
- They WILL cause SEVERE and COSTLY damage to metal components unless proper practice is used – WHICH IS NOT OUTLINED IN THEIR MANUALS! We must go ABOVE & BEYOND standard practices to prevent destruction of heaters, lights, handrails, ladder and slide sockets, motors etc. If you choose salt as your sanitizer, Pool & Patio Center goes to our utmost ability in the choice of components used to ensure this potential damage is minimized.
Facts
- No handling, transporting, measuring or storing of large amounts of sanitizer (chlorine, bromine or Baquacil®)– saving YOU time.
- The very low saline content does produce a softer "feel" and water quality for most swimmers.
- Chlorine is produced inside the plumbing and system, which eliminates the mess of mixing or potentially bleaching clothes with normal care and maintenance.
- Automated controls are at the touch of a button.
